Expansion has been proposed as part of the new CBA. My preference is to put a team in Salt Lake City and one in Nashville to bring us up to 32 total.
That being said, here is my realignment plan:

So there is my attempt at putting the 32 teams in baseball in divisions.
At 3 games per team against the teams in the other league (45 games) and 7 games per team in your own league outside of your division (84), that leaves 11 games per team inside your division (33) to give a 162 game schedule.
Playoffs would be the division champions (8) and the top 2 records in each league (4) to give the same number of teams (12 in the playoffs). Same playoff format as currently exists EXCEPT I would eliminate 5 games series in the ALDS and replace with 7 game series.
